Delivery and Assesment

The BTEC construction qualification will be delivered by face-to face learning, using dedicated learning materials.

There are 5 parts to obtaining the BTEC construction Qualification:
Unit 1 - Entitled "Introduction to Contracts"
Unit 2 - Entitled "Supervising and Managing Specialist Construction Work"
Unit 3 - Entitled "Obtaining Payment"
Unit 4 - Entitled "Handling Claims and Disputes"
Unit 5 - Entitled "Specialist Subcontract Management"

Units 1 to 4 are delivered by 1 day tutorials and unit 5 is spread over 3 tutorial days. At the end of each Unit each learner is given a BTEC Assignment and a time to complete based upon the course given. IOCS Tutors will mark the assignments and give feedback to the learners and provide on line support in case of difficulties. The training accreditation body will take a representative sample of marked assignments and check for consistency and also undertake annual Quality Assurance Audits.
