General Information

The Institute of Construction Specialists’ unique contractual training programme focuses very specifically on the needs, problems and opportunities of Specialist companies and consists of an integrated set of directly targeted and very high quality intensive courses - aimed at providing clear and practical understanding.

The programme consists of the following courses:

5. Specialist Sub Contract Management (3 days of training)

6. Contractual Awareness for Salespeople and other Key Staff

7. Operational Contractual Awareness

10. Construction for Neophytes

11. JCT 2005

12. Diploma Update

13. IOSH Managing Safely

14. IOSH Directing Safely

Also offered is the IOCS diploma. Candidates must attend Courses 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. A total of seven days of training.

COURSE TICKETS containing all relevant information are issued to delegates

ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATES will be issued to delegates on the day of the course

CITB Grant: The IOCS courses 1 to 12 are approved by CITB-ConstructionSkills. Companies registered with the CITB can claim a grant of £35 per person for each day of training. There is a CITB technical/professional grant available of £100 per person for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely. Eligible companies should contact their CITBConstructionSkills area offices directly and ask for Grant Claim Forn GC3/1.

PLEASE NOTE: If a company is not a member of the Confederation of Construction Specialists at the time the course takes place, but becomes a member within three months of the course having taken place, the difference between the member fee and non member fee will be refunded

The John Huxtable Centre, situated in Aldershot, is a dedicated training and meeting centre. It is available free of charge to Member companies. Please ask for details.
